Orange you glad you visited?
🎃 One of Dunwoody’s longest traditions, the All Saints Catholic Church Knights of Columbus Pumpkin Patch is gearing up for fall fun.
Hosted by the Knights of Columbus Council #11402, the pumpkin patch is returning for its 14th year, “offering the largest and most colorful selection of pumpkins and gourds yet,” according to a release from the organization.
The patch officially opens on Sunday, Sept. 28 at 9 a.m. and runs daily through Oct. 31. Operating hours are weekdays from noon to 7 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m at the church, located at 2443 Mt. Vernon Rd. in Dunwoody.
Offerings this year will include multi-colored heirlooms and white polar bear pumpkins, mini gourds and classic stacking pumpkins, according to the Knights of Columbus Pumpkin Patch website.

German meets Irish and everyone wins
🍻 St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church will host its second annual Dunwoody Oktoberfest on Saturday, Sept. 27 from noon to 6 p.m. on the church’s grounds on North Peachtree Road.
“Once again, this free-to-attend, family-friendly festival will combine the fun of a traditional Oktoberfest celebration with the purpose of supporting two vital community programs that serve metro Atlanta: one providing food and basic necessities to families in need, and another offering compassionate care and support to individuals living with Alzheimer’s and dementia,” a statement from the organization said.
Last year’s event supported the same two causes – Malachi’s Storehouse, St. Patrick Episcopal Church’s food pantry that distributes food, baby supplies and clothing every Wednesday and Anchor Place Respite Dunwoody, which provides social, emotional, and spiritual support for older adults living with cognitive impairments.

Stage Door Theatre’s ‘The Cottage’
💔 Stage Door Theatre will present Sandy Rustin’s “The Cottage,” which will run from Oct. 4-19 to open its 52nd season.
According to a release from SDT, The show, directed by Damian Lockhart, is “fresh off a Broadway run directed by Jason Alexander.”
The main characters Sylvia and Beau “retreat to the titular cottage for their yearly tryst,” the release said. “This side-splitting show is about one woman’s decision to come clean about an affair to her husband. . . and her lover’s wife.”
Although IRL, I can’t see that a play about confessing to a long-term affair would be a real laugher, but recently I had a blast at Sandy Spring’s “The Producers,” so that just proves that anything is possible. And Lockhart agrees.
“In a moment when society often feels divided, Sandy Rustin’s ‘The Cottage’ invites us to laugh together,” he said. “With its mix of sex, betrayal, and desire, served with classic British wit and charm, the play offers a joyful chance for community connection. My hope is that audiences leave with sore cheeks from laughter and full hearts from the experience.”
➡️ Tickets and more information about the play are available here.

All aboard for Dunwoody 101
🚎 After a sold-out debut in May, “Dunwoody 101: All Aboard” is rolling back into town on Tuesday, Sept. 30 for participants 18 years of age or older, according to a release from the city.
“This immersive, one-day program takes residents on a guided, behind-the-scenes journey through Dunwoody’s city government, complete with a trolley ride to see projects in action,” the announcement said.
“We heard great feedback when we debuted the program in May, so we wanted to offer it again,” said Dunwoody City Manager Eric Linton. “We’ve developed a schedule that lets participants experience the energy of city hall while also getting out to tour exciting projects and initiatives.”
🎟️ If the event sells out, you will be given priority for the next class. Why not give it a shot?
