From Sept. 25 to 28, the LGBTQ+ community will gather in Macon, GA to celebrate Pride with a weekend full of drag, festivities, and community.
Macon Pride kicks off on Thursday, Sept. 25, with the Lively Libations Social at Piedmont Brewery. The event, which starts at 4 p.m., will include specially crafted Macon Pride brews and live music, then the party moves to Third Street Park at 6 p.m. for a night of karaoke.
The fun continues Friday night, Sept. 26, with the HAUS Party drag show at the Capitol Theater. The show stars “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” queens Mistress Isabel Brooks and Daya Betty, Christina Leon, Yutoya Avaze Leon, Akasha Giselle Vidalle, Pynk Univers, Naja Iman Supreme, Eddie Bull, Hellacia Thee Diva, and the Vixens. The highlight of the weekend is the official festival, Pride in the Park, on Saturday, Sept. 27 at Third Street Park from 2 to 8 p.m. Along with vendors and a live entertainment stage, this year’s festival includes a kids zone, community yoga, and accommodations for neurodivergent attendees including low sensory hours from 2 to 4 p.m. and “The Still Point” serenity spaces housed in Hello Boba Café and The Bohemian Den. The fun will move to JBA Macon at 9 p.m. for the official afterparty.

The weekend’s events conclude on Sunday, Sept. 28, with an interfaith worship and family picnic at Coleman Hill Park from 4 to 6 p.m. The event will include a multi-faith service, food trucks, games, and music.
Throughout the four-day festival, the historic Tubman Museum will host the Pioneers and Trailblazers Photo History Exhibit, honoring 22 LGBTQ+ leaders whose work in the arts, activism, historic preservation, and community development has impacted the region. The Unity Project, a portable community art installation, will also debut at the Tubman, inviting festival goers to visually express how the LGBTQ+ community is different, but not separate.
