Visitors can get a spooky glimpse into the history of one of Atlanta’s most iconic landmarks this fall. The Fox Theatre’s haunted history tours Sept.29 to Oct. 30 with hour-long walking tours of the almost 100-year-old building.
On this tour, visitors will learn about the fascinating stories of the theatre’s history, from its origins as a Shriners temple to its transformation into a movie house and eventually the performing arts venue it is today.
A highlight of the tour will be an overview of the architectural choices that make the Fox iconic, from the starry domed ceiling and Egyptian-inspired design to the original furniture and still-operational hand-cranked elevator.

Scattered throughout the Fox’s fascinating history are stories of the unexplained phenomena and eerie happenings experienced by staff, guests, and performers, including an orb going upstairs, the sound of a dead dog’s barks, and the creepy on-site hospital room.

Tickets for the Fox Theater Haunted Tour are $25. Tours are available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on select Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from September 29 to October 30. Learn more and purchase tickets here.
