The Atlanta History Center in Buckhead announced the addition of two new members to its executive leadership team.

Sarah Fonder-Kristy will serve as the institution’s chief development officer, while Pola Changnon has been appointed to the chief content officer position.

Fonder-Kristy has over 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience, most recently as chief development officer at the Atlanta Community Food Bank, where she oversaw multi-million dollar initiatives.

In her new role, Atlanta History Center says that Fonder-Kristy will be in charge of its fundraising efforts, including “major and annual gifts, corporate and foundation support, planned giving, advancement events and donor stewardship.”

Changnon joined on as Atlanta History Center’s first-ever chief content officer last year, with the appointment being made official this month.

As chief content officer (which was originally created to “expand the institution’s reach and impact”), Changnon is tasked with managing “the strategic vision” for the center’s various departments, according to Atlanta History Center.

Previously, Changnon held leadership roles at both Turner Classic Movies (executive vice president, general manager) and Cartoon Network.

The announcement comes ahead of Atlanta History Center’s 100-year anniversary, which takes place in 2026.

With the centennial around the corner, the center says that Fonder-Kristy and Changnon will bring “visionary leadership in philanthropy, storytelling and brand strategy” to its offerings and help guide the educational complex through the “next century.”

“As we approach our centennial anniversary, we’re investing in the future of Atlanta History Center,” said Sheffield Hale, president and chief executive officer of the center.

“Sarah brings deep expertise in building philanthropic partnerships, and Pola brings extraordinary experience in storytelling, content creation and brand strategy. Together, they strengthen an already dynamic leadership team and position us to expand our mission, deepen our impact and share Atlanta’s full history in bold and innovative ways.”
