SCADFILM and the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) are celebrating horror this October with special guests Nick Antosca, Arianna Rivas, and more.

According to a press release, on Oct. 10 SCAD will host an event called “IN FOCUS: Horror,” spotlighting the popularity of the horror genre. Throughout the day, there will be panels, conversations, and a 7 p.m. screening of the new Scott Derrickson film “Black Phone 2” combined with a Q&A with actor Arianna Rivas.

Earlier in the day at 2 p.m., SCAD will host a conversation with multiple members of the creative team of the new HBO show “It: Welcome to Derry,” including costume designer Luis Sequeira, prosthetic makeup effects designer and supervisor Sean Sansom, and VFX supervisor Daryl Sawchuk.

At 5 p.m. Nick Antosca, creator of “The Act,” “Candy,” and other projects, will take attendees behind the scenes of modern horror. He will be joined by Ashley Michel Hoban, who executive produced and directed an episode of “Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy.”

All events will take place at SCADshow, the university’s theater in Midtown. Tickets can be purchased online.

Update: Patrick Wilson is no longer officially confirmed as an attendee for IN FOCUS: Horror, but a spokesperson said organizers are hopeful he will still make it. Ashley Michel Hoban is now confirmed for the event with Nick Antosca.
