Commuters along Ashford Dunwoody Road at Ashford Green will be diverted from their routes starting Oct. 20, as a storm pipe replacement project begins.

According to an announcement from the City of Brookhaven, the repair will take about three weeks.

“During this time, southbound traffic lanes will be closed to thru-traffic at Lake Hearn Drive and only one northbound lane will be open to traffic on Ashford Dunwoody Road between Perimeter Summit Parkway and Lake Hearn Drive,” the announcement said.

Vehicles driving south on Ashford Dunwoody Road will be detoured around the work area via Lake Hearn Drive, Parkside Place and Perimeter Summit Parkway.

Businesses at 4170 and 4150 Ashford Dunwoody Road will be able to exit north by turning left or exit south via Perimeter Summit Parkway, the announcement said.

Several stormwater-associated projects have been completed in the last year, according to the city of Brookhaven website. Repairs or upgrades have been made at Club Place, Ashford Trail, Stratfield Drive, Georgia Avenue at Antioch Drive, and Park Creek Cove.

Another ongoing project involves sentiment removal at Murphey Candler Lake, which is expected to take until January 2026.
