The Dunwoody candidates for District 1, 2, and 3 include two contested races, and one candidate, Catherine Lautenbacher, running unopposed.

The two incumbents, Tom Lambert and Rob Price won in closer-than-anticipated races over Wendi Taylor and David Ziskind.

“I appreciate the citizens of the city giving me a vote of confidence to serve on the council for four more years,” Price said.

Lambert said he was “deeply honored” by the trust put in him by the voters.

“I’m excited about our city’s future and remain committed to working tirelessly to keep Dunwoody moving forward,” he said.

Shortly before 11 p.m., Lambert’s opponent, Wendi Taylor, said she was not ready to make a statement as only “four of seven District 3 precincts have reported early voting results.”

David Ziskind in his concession statement, congratulated Price on his victory.

“Tonight, the voters of Dunwoody have spoken, and I respect their decision.  While this isn’t the outcome we hoped for, I’m grateful for the opportunity to participate in our democratic process, and I’m proud of the race we ran,” he said.  “We came up 159 votes short in an election that saw remarkable civic engagement for a municipal election – nearly 33 percent turnout in District 2.”

I want to thank my family, friends, volunteers, supporters, and everyone who believed in our vision for Dunwoody.  Your support meant everything to me,” he continued. “I am especially thankful for the support of my wife and three children, who witnessed the democratic process firsthand and were actively engaged in the campaign.”
