Uptown Atlanta will kick off the holiday season tonight, Nov. 20, with its fifth annual “Laughs, Llamas and Pajamas” event.
Running from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. along the mixed-use development’s Main Street, the free event gives visitors the chance to meet and take photos with pajama-clad llamas from the Wits End Llama Consortium.
Uptown Atlanta encourages guests to match the llamas’ attire and don their own pajamas at the function. Additionally, the development is asking attendees to bring new youth or adult pajamas to donate to Atlanta Mission, a local shelter that serves more than 1,000 people experiencing homelessness throughout the city and Northeast Georgia.
Since the start of “Laughs, Llamas and Pajamas,” the event has been able to collect “hundreds of pairs of pajamas” in support of individuals in-need, according to a release.
Along with offering interactions with animals that look like they are ready for bedtime, the event will also include a “Jingle Jam” dance party (featuring a dancing Santa Claus) and a craft station where children can make mini-llama holiday ornaments.
Parking will be available at the Uptown City Center Deck, costing $5 for the first two hours. For those that prefer public transport, Uptown Atlanta is located nearby the Lindbergh MARTA train station.
