A man found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Sunday afternoon has been charged in connection with the shooting, Atlanta PD said.

In an update released Sunday night, police identified the person who shot himself as 59-year-old Douglas E. Smith.
APD said they found him in the upper-level baggage claim area at about 3:34 p.m. with a gunshot wound to his left arm. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Airport operations were not affected by the shooting, police said.
Smith was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and reckless conduct.
