Brookhaven’s 10th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Dinner and Celebration returns Monday, Jan. 19, at 5 p.m. to Lynwood Recreation Center, the site of the Lynwood Schools, whose students integrated into the DeKalb School System in 1968.
The event is a tribute to the Lynwood Trailblazers and includes keynote speaker Karyn Greer, dinner, giveaways, live performances, and special guests, according to a release from the city.

Karyn Greer has been the anchor of WSB-TV Action News since 2022, and has served as an anchor and investigative reporter in the Atlanta market for more than 30 years.
She has a history of hands-on community involvement and often hosts breast cancer, Alzheimer’s, and other fundraising events all over Georgia, the release said.
Tickets to the event are $10 each and can be purchased at Lynwood Recreation Center, 3360 Osborne Rd., Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., or by calling (404) 637-0542.
