The City of Dunwoody will hold an open house for the Georgetown Small Area Plan on Wednesday, Jan. 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the North Shallowford Annex.

“Developed in partnership with Atlanta-based planning and engineering firms TSW and Kimley-Horn, the Georgetown Small Area Plan builds on the city’s recently adopted Comprehensive Plan,” according to a release from the city.

“The plan will provide a clear, actionable framework for guiding future development, enhancing mobility – whether by foot, bike, transit, or car – and strengthening placemaking in the Georgetown community,” said Dunwoody Community Development Director Richard McLeod in the release. “The vision is a more attractive, connected community with a strong sense of identity.”

The Georgetown area is bordered by Chamblee Dunwoody Road to the west, Cotillion Drive to the south, Peachford Road to the east, and Brook Run Park to the north. It includes N. Shallowford Road and Dunwoody Park.

At the open house, attendees will have the opportunity to:

• Review findings from the existing conditions analysis;
• Explore proposed improvements and draft development guidance;
• Participate in interactive activities to share feedback and help prioritize recommendations.

The event will feature informational boards and hands-on activities, but there will be no formal presentation, allowing participants to explore at their own pace.

“Community input will play a vital role in refining the plan’s recommendations and shaping its implementation strategy,” the release said.
