Now that the holiday tunes are retired for the season, the City of Tucker is offering up some musical relief with its Winter Concert Series, which begins Jan. 9.

The four-part concert series begins at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, at Tucker Recreation Center, with Atlanta-based cover band Emerald Empire Band. The free concert series brought out hundreds of music fans in its first year, and organizers expect the second annual event to pack out the recreation center.

“We have been absolutely thrilled with how the community has embraced these shows,” said Ryan Wenzel, City of Tucker events manager. “The popularity of the series has led to us setting capacity limits that we expect to hit at every show.”

The second show, on Jan. 23, will feature the Way Back Band, a group that performs music from genres including R&B, blues, swing, classic rock, and hard rock. The Bourbon Brothers  Band will bring their crooning sounds reminiscent of Frank Sinatra on Feb. 6.

The final show on Feb. 20 will feature jazzy, alternative tunes from Atomic Lush.  The Atlanta-based band recently sold out Eddie’s Attic playing some of its original tunes and a variety of popular covers.
