Select members of the LGBTQ+-friendly Voices of Note groups Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus and Atlanta Women’s Chorus will perform the cabaret-style concert “Broadway Sideways” at The Breman in Midtown on Feb. 15.
Thirteen performers from both choruses will perform a program of songs by contemporary Jewish composers and/or lyricists, including Steven Sondheim, Jonathan Larson, and Stephen Schwartz, from popular shows like Wicked, Les Misérables, Jesus Christ Superstar, Rent, and more.
“This isn’t just another revue,” director Jason Wynn said. “It’s an artistic statement about visibility and transformation, told through the voices and experiences of our community.”
“Broadway Sideways” follows Voices of Notes’ last sold-out performance of “Strictly Sondheim” at The Breman in 2023. The program is staged as part of Something Special Sundays at the museum, an ongoing series of performances and programs presented through the support of philanthropist Marilyn Ginsberg Eckstein. Each Something Special Sundays program is followed by a reception with refreshments.
“We are pleased to partner again with Voices of Note, a group of accomplished artistry that shares our belief in the power of performance to bring together artists and audiences of different experiences and faiths,” said Breman Executive Director Leslie Gordon.
“Broadway Sideways” will be performed at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15, at The Breman in Midtown. Tickets are $28 for Breman members, $30 for general admission, and $45 for VIP. To learn more and purchase, visit thebreman.org/events/broadway-sideways.
