If you can’t make it to New Orleans, the inaugural Virginia Highland Mardi Gras celebration on Saturday, Feb. 7, will be packed with beads, bites, and Bourbon Street vibes.

Hosted by the Virginia Highland District, the event will include a high-energy parade, food festival, and an epic after-party.

The parade, which steps off at noon, will roll down Virginia Avenue from Arcadia Street to North Highland Avenue, bringing together floats, bands, dancers, and neighborhood crews.

The parade will turn into the parking lot behind Fontaine’s Oyster Bar for a festive fête from 1 to 4 p.m. with live music featuring Wasted Potential, local vendors, face painting, and plenty of beads, beats, and brews. Entrances to the party are located through the Bar.bacoa alley and next to Paper Source.
