The City Springs Theatre Company announced its ninth season of musicals in Sandy Springs on Feb. 12 during its annual Encore Gala.

The 2026-2027 season begins with “Les Misérables” Sept. 11-27. It will be the first local staging of the musical and global phenomenon in more than a decade. In 2027, the theater company will stage the regional premiere of “Dear Evan Hansen,” winner of the 2017 Tony Award for best musical, March 5-21, followed by the season-closer and audience-favorite “Grease,” April 30-May 16.

Broadway-size productions

Led by Executive Director Natalie DeLancey and Hensley, City Springs Theatre Company generates nationwide attention with its local “Broadway-size” productions. The company heads into its ninth season with a record 5,743 subscribers.

Executive Director Natalie DeLancey said each production stretches the theater company creatively and deepens its commitment to producing large-scale,  professional musical theatre at the highest level for audiences in Sandy Springs and across the region.

“‘Les Misérables’ and ‘Grease’ have been two of our most requested titles since day one, so it’s incredibly special to finally bring these iconic, crowd-favorite musicals to the stage for the patrons who have championed them from the very beginning,” DeLancey said.

Hensley directed a one-night-only concert production of “Oklahoma!” at Carnegie Hall in January as a part of the “United in Sound: America at 250” festival.

Next month, he will direct the CSTC regional premiere of “Come From Away.” It will be his fourth time overseeing a production for the nonprofit.

“We have an amazing community of performers, including some Broadway veterans like me who call metro Atlanta home,” Hensley said. “I find myself regularly inspired by the talent pool here. I’m looking forward to creating a special and  memorable Les Miz for both our artists and our patrons.”

Tickets are currently available for the company’s upcoming productions of “Come From Away” (March 13-29) and “Mean Girls: The Musical” (May 1-17).

All City Springs Theatre  Company performances take place at the Byers Theatre, located in the Sandy Springs  Performing Arts Center, 1 Galambos Way.
