Georgia State University (GSU) will turn up the music and bust a move next month when it hosts its fundraiser event, “Dancing With the Panthers.”

Taking place March 2 at the Rialto Center for the Arts in downtown Atlanta, the event will feature dance performances from GSU faculty, staff, alumni, students and athletics leaders, all of whom are paired with a professional dancer.
Performing in front of an audience, the participants will get the chance to show off the techniques that they learned through prior dance lessons, with a number of awards up for grabs — including “Best Dancer,” “Crowd Favorite,” and “Best Attire.”
Proceeds from “Dancing With the Panthers” will go towards GSU’s Student Wellness programs, with the university aiming to raise $100,000.
Among the offerings GSU’s Student Wellness provides for students are prevention programs, recreation, food and basic-needs supplies, recovery resources, counseling, medical care and accessibility services.
“We must ensure students have the tools and confidence to protect their health,” said Courtney Anderson, dean of the Georgia State College of Law and one of the dancers participating in the upcoming event.
Tickets for “Dancing With the Panthers” are currently available and can be purchased online on the Rialto Center for the Arts website.
