Invest Atlanta approves financing for senior housing in Downtown
🏗️ Invest Atlanta has approved a $2 million grant for the construction of 65 senior units in the heart of Downtown Atlanta.
The grant from the Eastside Tax Allocation District (TAD) will be used to create Five Peachtree Senior, an affordable housing community across the street from Two Peachtree, the 48-story former state office building the city is converting into adaptive-reuse housing.
Residents of Five Peachtree will benefit from proximity to MARTA, healthcare providers, retail, and the Azalea Fresh Market grocery store. The development will also incorporate community-oriented spaces designed to promote wellness, accessibility, and social engagement.

Vintage, rare book show coming to Oglethorpe University this weekend
📖 Fine Book Fairs will host its first event of the year at Oglethorpe University in Brookhaven, Feb. 27-March 1, marking its first fair in Atlanta.
With 24 exhibitors and vendors from all over the United States, including local favorites like Atlanta Vintage Books and Toadlily Books, the fair will feature a wide range of material at varying price points.
In addition to the shopping experience, Fine Book Fairs will host two keynote speaker events with Kermit Roosevelt III, the great-great-grandson of former President Theodore Roosevelt.

SCAD founder Paula Wallace honored with knighthood from France
⚔️ Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) founder and president Paula Wallace has been named a Chevalier in the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters), one of France’s highest civilian honors.
The knighthood, awarded by the French Ministry of Culture, was presented during a recent ceremony at Villa Albertine headquarters in New York City.
Founded by Wallace in 1978, SCAD currently enrolls more than 18,500 students from over 100 countries, offering degree programs in a wide array of disciplines (including architecture, applied AI, fashion, film and more) on campuses in Savannah and Atlanta, Georgia, along with Lacoste, France.
