The Georgia Senate recently recognized Meals on Wheels Atlanta for 60 years of service.
A resolution received during a Feb. 25 floor session celebrated the organization’s crucial work to deliver over 500,000 meals a year to nearly 1,100 seniors and homebound individuals living with limited mobility, chronic illness and disabilities.
“Meals On Wheels Atlanta represents what it looks like when service meets purpose,” said Sen. RaShaun Kemp who sponsored the resolution. “Their work uplifts seniors, strengthens families and reflects the shared responsibility that defines strong communities.”

“I am proud that this transformative organization calls my district home and honored to have the Georgia State Senate stand with efforts that invest in people, preserve dignity and bring neighbors together in service to one another.”
CEO of Meals On Wheels Atlanta, Charlene Crusoe-Ingram, says it’s an honour to receive state-level recognition.
“Each meal served represents more than nutrition; it represents social interaction and well-being checks for those who might otherwise be isolated, improved health care outcomes and more connected communities,” she added.
In addition to providing lifesaving meals, the nonprofit also offers home repair services, an emergency food pantry and a pet pantry which allows seniors to remain at home with their pets, which are sometimes the only family they have.
