DeKalb–Peachtree Airport will host Aviation Day on March 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. as part of the 2026 Atlanta Science Festival.

The free and interactive event will allow families to get a behind-the-scenes look at Georgia’s second-busiest airport.

It’s aimed at middle and high school students, but will also welcome parents, caregivers, and younger siblings from Kindergarten and up.

“Activities include visits to an active control tower, tours of real aircraft, flight simulators, aircraft build activities, and live demonstrations of air traffic control and aviation operations,” said organizers in a news release.

Students will be able to speak directly with aviation professionals and discover how science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics are applied in real-world aviation careers.

They’ll also get a Flight Path of Careers manual, with information on aviation and aerospace careers, educational pathways, and practical next steps for future success.

“We are excited to host PDK’s Aviation Day in conjunction with the Atlanta Science Festival,” said Hunter C. Hines, Airport Director of DeKalb–Peachtree Airport. “The airport believes strongly in the importance of inspiring the next generation of aviation and aerospace professionals.”
