On May 2, guests will step into an evening of celebration at Monarchs & Margaritas, Dunwoody Nature Center’s signature fundraising event, complete with dinner, live music, and interactive experiences.
“This opportunity to invest in a lasting legacy of nature, conservation, and community engagement will help preserve the beauty of Dunwoody’s green spaces, inspire future generations, and protect our natural world,” according to the Dunwoody Nature Center online invitation.

The event, which will be held rain or shine, will be at the Tent in the Park at the Dunwoody Nature Center, 5443 Roberts Drive.
The evening includes dinner and an open bar, a tour of the Wildcat Creek Learning Lab, the center’s new education space, a paddle raise auction event, and “a race for the golden ticket,” according to the website’s information.
The $2.5 million learning lab project is funded through a combination of private donations and public support, including a $1 million investment from Dunwoody. An update on its construction is below.
The Dunwoody Nature Center’s mission started in 1975 when a group of citizens petitioned DeKalb County to purchase the acreage known as Dunwoody Park with a federal grant. The center’s goal is to inspire a love of nature and cultivate environmental understanding and stewardship through a variety of programs and activities that engage the public.
