The arrival of spring brings opportunities for fun and physical activity from Livable Buckhead as the nonprofit organization hosts two of its signature fitness-focused events: the Livable Buckhead Social Ride and buckheadWALKS!. These annual spring events offer people of all ages and fitness levels enjoyable ways to get more active and explore the community.
On Sunday, March 29, hundreds of cyclists will gather for the Livable Buckhead Social Ride. This eight-mile community bike ride, designed for riders of all ages and experience levels, departs from Eclipse di Luna and travels along Buckhead’s vibrant PATH400 greenway. The event offers a perfect blend of social connection and outdoor fun. This year’s route will feature the newest section of PATH400, providing a fresh perspective on Buckhead’s growing green spine. A limited number of discounted Lime e-bike rentals will be available for those who do not own a bike.
For those who prefer to explore on two feet, buckheadWALKS! returns from April 1 to April 30. This free, month-long walking challenge invites Buckhead residents and employees to compete for prizes by tracking their steps, either individually or as part of a team. Participants can also join weekly activities like scavenger hunts and guided walking tours to earn points. Prizes include a two-night stay at Nobu Hotel or InterContinental Buckhead, gift cards to local restaurants, and more.
“These events are a great opportunity for people to enjoy our incredible greenspaces, connect with neighbors and embrace a more active lifestyle,” said Denise Starling, executive director of Livable Buckhead. “This year’s Social Ride is particularly exciting since it will give everyone a firsthand look at the beautiful new section of PATH400.”
BuckheadWALKS! is sponsored by Tre Vele, Nobu Atlanta, Buckhead Theater, Lenox Mall and Zakia. The Livable Buckhead Social Ride is sponsored by Tre Vele, Eclipse di Luna, Brookhaven Bike Alliance, Go Georgia, Lime, Propel ATL and Two Wheel Valet.
