Trattoria Lucia, the new Glenwood Park Italian restaurant owned by Vesper’s Damien McGee, will soon serve weekend brunch.

The 60-seat Italian restaurant tucked just off the Beltline on Garrett Street will kick off brunch service on March 28, serving Italian-leaning breakfast and brunch dishes from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

What’s on the menu

McGee refers to the brunch menu as dishes he’d like to eat on the weekends, seen through an Italian filter.

Affogato French toast arrives as espresso-soaked brioche finished with vanilla gelato. A prosciutto Benedict layers prosciutto di Parma and basil hollandaise on rosemary focaccia. The Italian farm skillet comes with eggs, Italian sausage, roasted potatoes and focaccia. The New York Italian pairs smoked salmon with whipped ricotta and capers, also on focaccia.

Lighter options include a caprese avocado toast with heirloom tomatoes, balsamic glaze and fresh mozzarella, or a pistachio yogurt parfait. A breakfast sandwich and a fried chicken biscuit round out the sandwich options. Every table gets a bread basket with room-temperature butter and salt.

Look for brunch cocktails, zero-proof drink options and a full espresso bar, including cappuccino and Americano, during the weekends.

The setting

Lucia’s dining room features floor-to-ceiling windows to allow in natural light, as well as sidewalk bistro tables for warmer days.

The restaurant is part of the Glenwood Park development, a walkable mixed-use neighborhood east of Grant Park that has added several restaurants over the past few years, including Chef Kevin Gillespie’s Gunshow. Lucia’s debut in December provided the neighborhood with a quiet Italian restaurant.
