The City of Brookhaven is seeking community input for the development of the 2026–2030 Consolidated Plan (CP) and the 2026 Annual Action Plan (AAP).

The City’s 2026 program year runs from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, according to a release from the city.

“As an entitlement recipient of federal formula grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the City anticipates receiving approximately $349,486 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for the 2026 program year,” the release said. “These funds will support programs and services that benefit low‑ to moderate‑income residents.”

The 2026–2030 Consolidated Plan will outline the city’s long-term strategy to address housing needs, improve the living environment, and expand economic opportunities.

The 2026 AAP will detail the specific projects and activities the city intends to undertake in support of these goals, the release said. HUD has not yet announced the official Fiscal Year 2026 CDBG allocation, so the amount of funding is estimated

In accordance with the notice, Brookhaven officials will apply contingency provisions to adjust project budgets once HUD releases the final allocation, and then incorporate that amount in the draft.

The first round of public input was held in February. A second opportunity to weigh in will be held at 6:30 p.m. on April 14 at Brookhaven City Hall.
