As the Georgia General Assembly heads into the final day of its 2026 session today, April 2, lawmakers are racing to resolve a slate of high-profile bills.

Only legislation that passed at least one chamber on Crossover Day, which was March 6, remains eligible for final approval this year.

Among the most closely watched measures still pending is a proposal to repeal a tax break for data center equipment, which cleared the Senate but still awaits action in the House.

Georgia lawmakers are also weighing competing versions of income tax reduction plans, while bills targeting large corporate ownership of single-family homes in the state are still in play.

On Wednesday night, there was a renewed effort to pass House Bill 54, which would prevent doctors from prescribing puberty blockers to minors and restrict gender-affirming care for transgender people.

Meanwhile, lawmakers must still finalize the state budget after the House and Senate passed differing versions earlier this year.
