New public art initiative brings Norcross identity to life with vinyl wraps

🎨 The Norcross Public Arts Commission is in the process of installing “Norcross Forever” vinyl wraps on utility boxes across the city, as a part of a new initiative to bring art and character to key intersections.

Norcross Public Arts Commission Chair Liz Simpson said residents will start seeing more of the vinyl wraps, or “Norcross Forever” stamps, on utility boxes around the city in the coming weeks.

Themed designs include familiar scenes and cultural staples like Hispanic Heritage, Jazz in the Alley, Lillian Webb Park, International Festivals, Pinnacle Park, Filming in Norcross, the Historic Train Depot, and Splash Pad Fun.

Rezoning proposal for new grocery store in Norcross moves forward

🏠 Norcross planning staff is recommending rezoning a commercial property with a history of code violations along Western Hills Drive that would allow for a new neighborhood grocery store.

The city’s planning and zoning board discussed the rezoning of 6011 Western Hills Drive, near the intersection of Norcross Tucker Road and Jimmy Carter Boulevard (SR 140), at its April 1 meeting.

With most of the existing fresh food options in southeast Norcross near Interstate 85, a local grocery store farther north along Jimmy Carter could be more convenient for traffic-weary residents.
