The Atlanta Police Department has made arrests in two unrelated fatal shootings that took the lives of two juveniles.

According to reports from APD, homicide investigators were able to establish probable cause and obtain arrest warrants for Barbara Edwards, 71, and Jermaine Hardeman, 35, in the fatal shooting of a 3-year-old. Both are being charged with felony murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and cruelty to children in the second degree.

The shooting happened on April 5 after midnight in the 900 block of Washington Street. APD had previously stated that the infant had been left with a babysitter while his mother went to work, but offered no other details in the case after the two arrests.

APD also arrested a 14-year-old on Sunday for the April 11 fatal shooting of a 12-year-old at 1899 Lathrop St. SE. He was charged with murder, taken into custody, and transported to the Metro Youth Detention Center

Investigators said the 12-year-old had friends over and that the group was playing with a gun in a bedroom at the time of the incident.
