Sandy Springs Police Foundation hosts inaugural car show fundraiser

🏎️ The Sandy Springs Invitational Car Show on April 19 is the Sandy Springs Police Foundation’s inaugural fundraising event, bringing more than 100 unique cars from Caffeine & Octane to the downtown City Springs district.

With a $10 general admission ticket, the public can access the three-hour car show along Mount Vernon Highway and dozens of classic and exotic automobiles from across the world. The Sandy Springs Police Foundation says all funds from the car show will go toward various resources to support the department and its officers.

“Everybody connects with cars, even if you’re not a true gearhead, you know, and you’re under the hood working on your car,” Bruce Piefke, CEO of Caffeine & Octane, said. “Everybody has a good car story. Everybody can relate to it. The thing I’m most proud of about Caffeine & Octane is how diverse an audience it draws.”

Take 5 with author Pamela Norsworthy on her new book ‘The Florentine Entanglement’

✈️ Sandy Springs author Pamela Norsworthy’s first historical fiction novel, “War Bonds,” earned her a Georgia Author of the Year Award nomination for its saga of a British nurse and her complicated relationship with an American pilot.

Her latest book, “The Florentine Entanglement,” weaves the gripping story of a teetering marriage into the infamous failure of the U-2 spy plane mission over Russia that redefined the stakes of the Cold War.

‘He Got His Wish’: Stories of Atlanta by Lance Russell

VIA SAPORTAREPORT

🗞️ Two men sit down for a conversation. As a result, one of the men, an influential industrialist and newspaper owner, commits his political support to the other man.

This is enough to get the other man elected to the Georgia House of Representatives, where, according to the plan they hatched during their conversation, the new state representative introduces a bill before the house that changes Georgia’s history.

🗣️ It’s all about the power of words on this week’s Stories of Atlanta.
