A student-made docuseries about Atlanta’s food scene landed Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) its first nominations from the Southeast Emmy Awards.
ChefATL, an original series produced by more than 100 SCAD students across nine degree programs, received nominations in the “Lifestyle – Long Form Content” category for two episodes: “Global Soul” and “De Allá Pa’ Acá”. The winners will be announced May 16 at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Buckhead.

About ChefATL
The series frames Atlanta’s cultural identity through its restaurants, following chefs like James Beard Award winners Steven Satterfield of Miller Union and Terry Koval of The Deer and The Dove, Parnass Savang of Talat Market, Jiyeon Lee of Heirloom Market BBQ, Hector Santiago of El Super Pan, and Deborah VanTrece of Twisted Soul Cookhouse & Pours.
The series premiered in 2025 on WABE TV, the local PBS affiliate, through a distribution partnership with the public media outlet. Episodes are also available on WABE’s website and through PBS Passport.
The Southeast Emmy Awards, administered by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ Southeast Chapter, recognize television and streaming content produced across the region.
