The Midtown Neighbors’ Association will host the 13th annual Midtown Garden Stroll on Sunday, May 17, from noon to 5 p.m.

The free, self-guided tour will feature 30 private gardens, ranging from formal to casual.

MNA marketing and communications chair Courtney Smith said visitors can wander through the gardens at their own pace and visit just the ones they want or all of them.

“The gardens are curated and opened to the public by the homeowners, who are onsite to talk with visitors about how they created their garden and offer tips,” Smith said. “Visitors can leave with an idea of something that they can do at their home without having to hire someone to help.”

There will also be a plant market on Penn Avenue between 6th and 7th Streets, along with music, food, and items from local makers. At 6th Street and Argonne Avenue will be a spot called The Watering Hole where visitors can hang out, and a lawn on Mentelle Drive where you can relax with an ice cream.

Midtown Garden Stroll visitors are encouraged to walk or bike to the event. There will be some street parking, but visitors should not park in permit-only parking areas on the streets.

While the Stroll is free, supporters are encouraged to attend the ticketed Gardens After Dark fundraiser on Friday, May 15, from 8 to 10 p.m. Tickets are available here for the party, which will be held at a beautiful modern home with a rooftop view of the skyline.
