Pride month is here, and while Atlanta’s official festival won’t return to the city until October, there are plenty of opportunities to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. Whether you’re looking for a party in the city, a nearby Pride festival, or a road trip, there’s plenty to do in Georgia this June for the annual observance.

Preserving Pride: LGBTQ+ Social Spaces in Atlanta

Drag Me to Church – Interfaith Commemoration of Stonewall

The 12th annual SFQP festival will transform venues across Little 5 Points with a full week of events. This year’s lineup includes an opening gallery show, a trans cabaret and open mic, an intergenerational bingo night, the Peach Pit pageant, a queer variety show, an artist market, a queer movie night, and a pop-up thrift shop – plus plenty of dance parties, workshops, and skill shares. Statesboro’s Pride festival isn’t until October, but this Pride month Bingo night will raise money to keep the festival free. Each $15 ticket gets two bingo cards, and additional cards are $3. Tickets can be purchased on Boro Pride’s website at statesboropride.org.
Colgay Pride

Woodruff Riverfront Park
Columbus’ two-day Pride festival returns for its 13th year with a vendor market, parade, drag shows, stand-up comedians, and live music. More information can be found at colgaypride.org.

Smyrna Pride Festival

Smyrna Market Village
Pride returns to downtown Smyrna this June. Attendees will enjoy a vendor market; family-friendly activities like face painting, balloon art, and bubbles; and entertainment from DJs, live musicians, and drag performers. Starland Yard, Savannah
Stonewall at Starland Yard is a free, vibrant annual celebration commemorating the 1969 Stonewall Riots, which gave momentum to the LGBTQ+ rights movement. Attendees can look forward to the annual “So You Think You Can Drag” competition highlighting local talented drag artists. This year, the addition of the Stonewall Mini Ball will provide an open-to-all experience for attendees to take part in this cornerstone of queer culture.
