A stretch of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive will be transformed into a car-free public gathering space on Sunday, June 14, as part of a new Atlanta Streets Alive route debuting in conjunction with FIFA World Cup activities.
The free event, organized by the Atlanta Department of Transportation and Propel ATL, will run from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive between Burbank Drive and Northside Drive.

As part of the World Cup festivities, the route connects Mercedes-Benz Stadium to the Atlanta BeltLine Westside Trail. It will be closed to motor vehicle traffic to allow space for walking, biking, skating, and other activities.
Organizers said the event will feature a wide range of activities designed to showcase local culture, health initiatives and community organizations. Entertainment offerings include a pop-up dance party hosted by WQEB 97.3, swing dancing with Hot Jam, house music from DJ PKay, dance instruction from Kim Armstrong and performances by Atlanta-based all-female a cappella group Octave Atlanta.
Health and wellness programming will include free protein milkshake samples from Quest Nutrition, a cooling station from Piedmont Urgent Care, prostate cancer screenings provided by Emory Healthcare and injury prevention education from STRIV Performance.
