Red Beard Restaurants’ Michelin-recommended Scottish and Southern spot Nàdair will close after service on June 27. Nàdair announced its upcoming closure via an Instagram post on June 19, citing economic reasons.

“We have been fortunate to work alongside a lot of incredible people that helped us create our own brand of hospitality … however we just can’t seem to achieve the economics needed to continue to do so. Saturday, June 27th will be our final night of service,” the post reads.

Kevin Gillespie (Gunshow, Woodfire Grill) opened Nàdair, which he described as a culmination of his career as a chef, in May 2024. Nàdair quickly earned numerous accolades, including a spot on Rough Draft’s Best New Restaurants of 2024, the 2024 and 2025 Atlanta Michelin Guide, the New York Times’ 2024 Restaurant List, and the New York Times’ 25 Best Restaurants in Atlanta list. Nàdair also received a Snail of Approval award from Slow Food Atlanta in 2025.

With its welcoming atmosphere and hearty fare – like smoked Bamlett trout toast, ricotta dumplings with sage, browned butter, and cream sauce, and sweet potato-glazed barbecue quail – Nàdair’s dining space carried the aura one would expect at a family gathering. Nàdair’s personal touch only intensified when Gillespie toured the dining room in an ancestral kilt and chatted with customers.

In February, Gillespie announced via Instagram and a Food & Wine article that he would step down as chef at Nàdair to work on another book and get his PhD. He stayed on as owner.

“Thank you to everyone that chose [to] dine with us, to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries with us,” the post continued. “We hope to have the opportunity to take care of you one last time.”
