Norcross is looking for two community-minded volunteers who want to “help create an event better outing experience for future generations” and serve on the city’s Parks, Green Spaces & Trails Commission.

As a commission member, routine tasks include planning improvements at parks, gathering community input, supporting conservation and sustainability efforts, recommending enhancements to public spaces, and promoting recreational programs and community events.

“We’re looking for people who are passionate about our community, enjoy working with others, and are willing to roll up their sleeves to help move projects forward, the city’s announcement said. “Experience in parks, planning, environmental design, sustainability, community development, or related fields is a plus, but it is not required.”

The commission meets on the third Thursday of each month at 5:00 p.m. at Norcross City Hall, 65 Lawrenceville St. The five-member board is chaired by Tixie Fowler. Members serve four-year terms.
