The Vikings are looking to take the next step forward in the program’s total rebuild that began when head coach Morris Starr took over in 2019. Since then, the team has gone from back-to-back winless seasons in 2019 and 2020 to playing a non-region schedule in 2022 and 2023 before returning to region play over the last two years. The team is losing a good bit of production from last year’s squad but is also returning some of its top players. On offense, the biggest returning player is leading receiver Canon Davis, who was named All-Region Honorable Mention last year as a sophomore. They are losing star athlete Spencer Wise, who was a second-team All-Region wide receiver and the team’s leading tackler.
The Vikings will return their second-leading tackler in 4-star safety Seth Williams. Williams is a long 6-foot-2, 180-pound safety who is a hard hitter and isn’t afraid to play in the run game. The team will have a new quarterback, with Ayden Grubel the most likely player to take control of the position. On the offensive line, Ben Novak Sosa has transferred in from Druid Hills. Standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 300 pounds, he is a massive lineman with the ability to dominate in the trenches. The team will have the chance to make a run at its first playoff appearance since the 2015 season.
