VinylCon! makes its long-awaited return to Atlanta this weekend with a two-day celebration of vinyl culture at the Yaarab Shrine Center on Aug. 29-30.
After drawing thousands of music lovers to their first Atlanta event back in February, VinylCon! brings its second iteration of its unique blend of community, culture, and crate-digging for one of the largest record fairs in Georgia.
There will be more than 50 record sellers from all over the region and country, according to a press release. In addition to vendors, the show will feature a full lineup of local and nationally known vinyl DJs. There will also be giveaways, a full bar, sponsor activations, and food from local food trucks.
“As a collector and enthusiast myself, I felt like the record fair I wanted to attend simply didn’t exist,” VinylCon! founder Kobi Waldfogel said in the press release. “VinylCon! is meant to be both accessible to vinyl-curious newcomers and respected by veteran collectors. Atlanta has an incredible and loyal music culture, and we can’t wait to offer our event to the community for its second round.”
The Atlanta return also coincides with continued momentum for vinyl nationwide. According to the Recording Industry Association of America, vinyl revenues have surpassed $1 billion in recent years, reflecting the continued demand for physical music formats and analog listening experiences.
The event takes place Saturday, Aug. 29, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 30, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Yaarab Shrine Center, 400 Ponce De Leon Ave NE.
Advance tickets for Saturday are $12.75, and Sunday is $10 (fees included). For the serious diggers, VIP Early Entry tickets ($32.50) grant access on Saturday, with a 2-hour head start. Parking is available for free at the Yaarab Shrine Center parking lot.
