There’s a new reason to spend your Sunday afternoon in Midtown this fall.

Midtown Alliance is launching the Midtown Artisan Markets at Midtown Green, a series of Sunday markets bringing together local artists, makers, small businesses, food and family-friendly activities in one of Midtown’s newest public spaces.

The markets will take place on October 25, November 22 and December 13 from noon to 6 p.m. at Midtown Green, 98 14th Street. Admission is free.

A Sunday afternoon built around local Atlanta merchants

Each market will feature 20 to 30 local artisan vendors, giving visitors the chance to browse handmade goods, art, accessories, vintage items, gifts and more while supporting Atlanta’s creative community and small businesses.

With four monthly markets happening September through December, there will be plenty of opportunities to find something special—whether you’re shopping for yourself, searching for a one-of-a-kind gift or getting an early start on holiday shopping.

Visitors can grab food and treats available for purchase, play lawn games or simply find a spot on the grass to relax and enjoy a fall afternoon. Seasonal activities and interactive experiences will add something different to each market, giving visitors a reason to come back throughout the series.

More than a market

The Midtown Artisan Markets are also an opportunity to connect with some of the organizations that make Atlanta a vibrant place to live, learn and play. Community partners participating throughout the series include Emory’s Arts and Social Justice program, Soccer in the Streets, Atlanta History Center and Alliance Theatre, with activities designed to introduce visitors to their work in fun and unexpected ways.

In September, families can also enjoy a special storytime presented by Alliance Theatre featuring a live reading of Carmela Full of Wishes, the beloved children’s book that inspired the Theatre’s newest show.

The markets are designed for all ages, whether you’re bringing the kids, meeting up with friends, taking your dog for a walk or just looking for something free to do on a Sunday.

Discover Midtown Green

The markets also offer Atlantans a chance to experience Midtown Green, a new four-acre public gathering space in the heart of Midtown.

Midtown Alliance recently transformed the once-empty site into a welcoming green space while planning continues for its long-term future. Today, visitors will find an expansive lawn, walking paths and plenty of room to gather, relax and enjoy a growing lineup of free community programming.

The Artisan Markets are part of that effort: creating more opportunities for Atlantans to spend time together outdoors while showcasing the artists, organizations and small businesses that contribute to the city’s creative culture.

So bring a friend, bring the family or just stop by while you’re exploring Midtown. Shop local, eat some tasty treats, discover something new and stay awhile.
