East Atlanta Strut returns Saturday, Sept. 26, with a twist on the usual community festival.

The event runs from noon until 6 p.m. with the annual “Strut” parade with marching bands, floats, and more at noon. Activities will take place at Flat Shoals and Glenwood Avenues, as well as Brownwood Park.

Some of ghe activies planned for the festival: 

  • Leaf Blower Madness pits contestants in a relay race using the yard tool people love to hate. 
  • The Wing Toss challenges contestants to not only eat their wings, but to also properly dispose of the bones. 
  • Use your imagination for the description of Llama Poop Bingo.

The Strut offers two stages of live music, plus a porchfest, which means more than 30 bands entertaining attendees. The neighborhood’s restaurants and bars show off for the Strut, and there also are plenty of food and drink vendors, plus more than 100 merchandise vendor booths. 

The Strut is a nonprofit organized and run completely by volunteers, whose mission is to highlight the EAV community and use festival profits to award grants to other neighborhood nonprofits.
