Kingswood Church welcomed the Rev. Thomas Hall as its new senior pastor on July 12. Hall succeeds the Rev. Dr. Dana Everhart, who retired from full-time ministry in June.
“Kingswood is a church with a warm spirit and a deep commitment to serving its neighbors,” Hall said, in a release from the church. “I am grateful for the opportunity to join this congregation, and I look forward to walking together in faith as we continue the mission God has entrusted to us.”
Hall has served in full-time pastoral ministry since 2000 and brings more than two decades of experience in preaching, discipleship, and community engagement. Most recently, he served as pastor of Crossroads United Methodist Church in Conyers.

Hall and his wife, the Rev. Melissa Kime-Hall, are lifelong Georgia residents. Melissa serves as senior associate pastor at Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Decatur. They have three adult children and one granddaughter.
Hall first sensed a call to ministry as a youth at Midway United Methodist Church in Douglasville, where several pastors nurtured his growing faith, the release said. He graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1989 and earned a Master of Divinity from Erskine Theological Seminary in 2006.
Hall describes himself as “United Methodist by conviction,” shaped by prayer, Scripture, tradition, personal experience and reflection. He is passionate about calling the church back to its core mission, fostering unity and encouraging believers to live as ambassadors of Christ.
The church invites the Dunwoody community to meet Hall during its fall kickoff celebration Aug. 2, featuring a free lunch from The Varsity following the 11 a.m. service.
During worship, there will be a special blessing for students and educators preparing to return to school. The church will also dedicate more than 75 boxes of school supplies that have been packed and delivered to every teacher at nearby Kingsley and Chesnut elementary schools.
