The City of Tucker is seeking feedback from residents as it develops its Americans with Disabilities Act strategy.
Tucker recently reached 50 employees, putting the city in a new category of compliance with the ADA. The ADA Strategy Report is the first phase of Tucker’s plan to achieve full ADA compliance. City governments must comply with Title II of the ADA and must provide program access for people with disabilities for the whole range of city services and programs, meaning that people with disabilities should be able to attend public meetings and city functions and have access to the city’s various programs and services.
Tucker residents and visitors are invited to complete a 16-question survey about future accessibility improvements to public buildings, infrastructure, services, and programs. The survey is open now through Aug. 31. They can also pin feedback onto a digital map of Tucker at specific locations with observed accessibility barriers or challenges.

Feedback provided by the public will help prioritize the implementation of projects and improvements identified in the city’s final ADA Transition Plan. The public feedback will also assist the city in determining which accessibility barriers should be addressed first.
Paper copies of the survey and map are available at City Hall for anyone unable to complete them online. City staff is also available to record audible survey responses for those who need additional assistance.
Questions about the ADA Strategy Report and survey assistance can be sent to Community Development Deputy Director Grace Zhang at gzhang@tuckerga.gov.
