Georgia Voice is the media outlet of record for the LGBTQ community in Atlanta and throughout the state.  With a monthly print edition and a 24/7 updated website, Georgia Voice has proven to be indispensable to its readers since it launched in March 2010.

Georgia Voice has earned numerous awards for its journalism and its design. In addition to its core products, Georgia Voice also annually publishes “Destination: Gay Atlanta,” the city’s official LGBTQ travel guide, in partnership with the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau (ACVB).

Chris Cash, Laura Douglas-Brown, and Tim Boyd founded Georgia Voice.

Cash founded Southern Voice in 1988 and sold the newspaper to Window Media in 1997. Douglas-Brown was Editor of Southern Voice when Window Media declared bankruptcy in November 2009. Boyd was in sales at Southern Voice in the 1990s and went on to create and manage a chain of luxury gift stores throughout the southeast. The three decided, soon after Southern Voice closed its doors in 2009, to launch a new LGBTQ newspaper for Atlanta. Together, they have over 40 years of experience in newspaper publishing, entrepreneurship, and business.
