Open Hand celebrated its 20th anniversary and newly expanded service kitchen on Oct. 18 with an event that raised almost $200,000 for the nonprofit organization. Open Hand, formerly known as Project Open Hand, cooks, packages and delivers healthy meals to elderly and chronically ill clients. A VIP party was first hosted in the new kitchen and was followed by the main event, a gathering at Mason Murer Fine Art. The parties included community leaders acting as chefs de cuisine serving hors d’oeuvres as well as a cocktail reception, silent auction and music.
