This summer’s Corks and Forks Fine Food & Wine Event, a part of the annual Summer Shade Festival Grant Park, is set for Aug. 29-30 from 1to 5 p.m. each day. The affair will feature dishes from Atlanta’s top chefs complemented by international wine pairings and beer tastings. Restaurants participating include: Babette’s Café, Bhojanic, Cabot Cereamery, Canoe, Dolce, ENO, Food 101, Geisha House, JCT Kitchen, Murphy’s ONE.midtown kitchen, Parish, Peasant Bistro, Rathbun’s, Six Feet Under, Tap, The Melting Pot, The Shed at Glenwood, Sun Dial and TWO.Urban Licks. Twisted Taco has opened its fifth location in the former Wieuca Tavern spot at 4629 Wieuca Rd. Check the Web site at for updates and details.

Savage Pizza has opened its new location in Avondale Estates, 115 Laredo Dr.

The Arizona Pub has opened in the Arizona Lofts development at 130 Arizona Ave. in Candler Park.

Central City Tavern has moved from its long-time location at Peachtree and Collier roads to 1801 Howell Mill Road, No. 400, in The District at Howell Mill development.

Concentrics Restaurants closed the main dining room of TROIS restaurant for renovations to be completed by summer’s end. The Bar at TROIS is still open Tuesday through Saturday starting at 5:30 p.m. serving a dinner menu by Chef Todd Ginsberg. The restaurant’s event space will also remain open. A new restaurant concept is scheduled to take over all three spaces in September.

After purchasing Food 101 Morningside early this year, Executive Chef Ron Eyester has transformed the restaurant into Rosebud. The new name comes from the name of a custom guitar belonging to the late Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead, a tribute to Eyester’s love of music. While favorites like the Springer Mountain fried chicken and Wild Georgia shrimp and grits maintain their premium spots on the menu, new recipes like vanilla and sage grilled Riverview Farms pork loin medallion with smoked bacon-creamed cabbage and grilled cobia with “corn off the cob,” citrus chive slaw and peach BBQ jus will highlight the restaurant’s dedication to reinventing American classics with local ingredients.

The Lenox Square Grill will open this fall in the space formerly occupied by The Clubhouse. The restaurant is a new concept from CentraArchy – the hometown company that owns Tavern at Phipps, New York Prime, Joey D’s and California Dreaming. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, the menu will feature traditional comfort foods.

Gordon Biersch Brewery has opened its 28th flagship-branded Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant at 3242 Peachtree Road in Buckhead, former site of Rock Bottom Brewery. The 12,200-square-foot space offers an upscale menu and an 18-vat brewery onsite.

Chef Michelle Niesen, former owner of Billy Goat’s Cantina and The Supper Club, has been named manager of the new Courtyard Market at Studioplex on Auburn Avenue, which is held every Saturday through November from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Niesen will be advising local farmers about how to bring the farm-to-table experience to their growing and selling.

LIT Kitchen has re-branded itself as 433Bishop, offering the same venue, on-site and off-site catering services, but with some new improvements and additions. Chef Sheri Davis, formerly of Dish, is the new catering chef, and a new garden patio has been opened for weddings, garden parties and more.

Three Atlanta chefs will take part in Bravo TV’s latest edition of Top Chef, which begins Aug. 23: Kevin Gillespie of Woodfire Grill, Eli Kirshtein of Eno and Hector Santiago of Pura Vida.
