The annual Atlanta Health and Wellness Expo brings more than 90 organizations together to showcase the latest in health and wellness developments, and provides opportunities to access more than a dozen health screenings. The event will be held at Lenox Square tomorrow (Aug. 29) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Among the exhibitions at this year’s expo are “brown bag lunch” and “cubicle cuisine” ideas from professional chefs, nutrition counseling, a 10 mile training walk for the Atlanta 2 Walk for Breast Cancer, and fitness and women’s self defense demonstrations. The Expo will also give attendees the opportunity to get several free health screenings for diabetes, heart health, stroke risk, and breast cancer. Mobile mammography and blood donation will be available with prior registration.
In addition to the numerous health-related activities at the Expo, there will also be a performance by the Shades of Pink Choir, a vocal ensemble of breast cancer survivors, and other live performances by Ravdevyn, Chris Sisson, and Heather and Ralph Luttrell. Rebecca M. Shepard will also be on hand to sign copies of her new book, Joy Comes in the Morning, A Mother and Daughter’s Cancer Journey.
The event is free and open to the whole family. For more information, visit www.ItsTheJourney.org or call (404) 531-4111.
