Grant Park will be all aglow this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday as part of its first annual Holiday Lights and Market. Inspired by the tradition of 14th Century European advent markets, the weekend-long celebration will feature live performances by choirs, and choral and instrumental groups, fabulous food and warm drinks, an artist market featuring textiles, paintings, photography, jewelry and much more designed by up to 100 local artists, and of course, lots of holiday cheer and bright, sparkling lights.
The festival’s hours are: Dec. 11: 3 – 9 p.m; Dec. 12: 12 – 10 p.m.; and Dec 13: 12 – 7 p.m.
The event is sponsored by the Grant Park Conservancy and is held in conjunction with the 28th annual Grant Park Candlelight Tour of Homes (December 12-13). Proceeds from the event will benefit the restoration efforts of the Grant Park Conservancy.
