To the editor:

As to your 1/15/2010 issue’s article on Village Place Brookhaven, Mr. Dillon Baynes of the Orinda Corp might want to talk to local neighborhoods before making any plans. His statement: “wondered why all of Dresden to Clairmont should not be redeveloped as commercial properties” sends a shiver down the spines of local community groups.

In Dec of 2004 when Village Place was being designed, a verbal agreement was made that Camille Drive would be the limit of development eastward along Dresden (see application Z-04034 notes).

The R-75 zoning of single family homes must be maintained along the rest of Dresden Drive. It is these neighborhoods that are the main support for developments such as Village Place Brookhaven.
