Northside Hospital holds its 2010 “preemie reunion” on April 17. Hospital officials expect more than 1,000 people to attend the event at the Northside/Interchange Professional Building, 5780 Peachtree Dunwoody Road. The annual event reunites families who have gone through Northside’s Special Care Nurseries with the physicians, nurses and other health care professionals who cared for them.
The special care nurseries provide acute care to infants with conditions ranging from heart problems to underdeveloped lungs. The unit cares for as many as 100 premature babies at one time and more than 1,500 premature and special-needs infants annually. This is the biggest thank you a parent can give the staff,” says Anne Moroz, parent resource clinician, Northside’s special care nurseries.
“All of us in the Special Care Nurseries want to see our handy work and how far our babies have come.” The event is free to attend; however, registration is required. For more information or to register, call 770-833-1220.
