slow food logoSlow Food Atlanta is hosting its Fourth Annual Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social fundraiser on Saturday, June 19, at the Peachtree Road Farmers Market from 12:30 p.m.-2 p.m. Attendees will get the chance to taste over a dozen of home made ice creams made by Atlanta chefs and home cooks. Participating chefs come from Atlanta restaurants such as Woodfire Grill, Shaun’s, Restaurant Eugene, Rosebud, La Pietra Cucina, Buckhead Bottle Bar, Repast, Miller Union, Murphy’s, Canoe and Five & Ten.

Guests will also vote on their favorite ice-cream flavor in categories including “Fan Favorite,” “Favorite Classic Flavor” and “Favorite Innovative Flavor.” Ice cream makers were asked to concoct an original ice cream flavor with the use of natural and local ingredients whenever possible.

Tickets for the event are $10 each, with children under five for free. The tickets allow guests a taste of each flavor and a ballot. Proceeds benefit the Atlanta chapter of Slow Food International and the Peachtree Road Farmers Market.
