Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed has announced finalists for the jobs of the city’s chief financial officer and commissioner of the public works department.

The three finalists for Chief Financial Officer are: J. Anthony (Jim) Beard, Palm Beach County (Fla.) clerk and comptroller; Michael (Mike) J. Bell, DeKalb County director of finance; and Joya C. De Foor, city treasurer of Los Angeles, Calif.

The three finalists for public works commissioner are Richard Mendoza, assistant director of public works for San Antonio, Texas; Dexter White, director of public works for Richmond, Va.; and Daniel Worth, public works executive director at Scottsdale, Ariz.

After receiving the two search committees’ recommendations, Reed and Chief Operating Officer Peter Aman individually five candidates for each post and narrowed the list to three finalists for each position. Reed expects to name his choice for each post soon.
