soccer ballIf you’re craving more soccer action now that the 2010 World Cup is over, head over to the Georgia Dome on July 28 for the Atlanta International Soccer Challenge featuring Mexico’s Club América vs. Manchester City. The game begins at 8 p.m. and tickets are on sale now for just $25 at Ticketmaster.

As a contender to host the 2018 and 2022 World Cup, Atlanta is in the middle of a campaign to show the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) it can support soccer on the world stage. The event will also benefit non-soccer organizations in the city, including Junior Achievement of Georgia.

Club América defeated AC Milan 2-1 last summer at the Dome, and will serve as the home team versus Manchester City. Three of Manchester City’s star players were chosen for the provisional England squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup: Shaun Wright Philips, Adam Johnson and Garreth Barry.

  1. We loved the World Cup and in fact have tickets to Mexico’s Club América vs. Manchester City. Looking forward to the event. Help get more exposure and get more people understanding the game. Atlanta is a great diverse area for this event as their are several foreign chambers: South African, British, German, Asia and many more!!

    All who had great networking and watching the world cup event through out the month of the World Cup.

  2. I would like to attend the soccer challenge because firstly, I’m having World Cup withdrawals. Secondly, I took my Mom last year and had a blast so would love to go again especially since she is from England.

  3. 4 years ago I was living in Dortmund, Germany for the world cup, and I basically quit my job for a month to watch the 2010 World Cup. I saw almost every match live, and have since caught up on the ones I missed.

    I would love to attend the soccer challenge and support Atlanta football, but I’m absolutely dead broke from aforementioned quitting of job. That, my friends, is definitely why I should win tickets to watch manchester city get destroyed – front and center. 😉

  4. I would love to watch this soccer game live in front of me. When I traveled to Mexico I was dying to attend one of their soccer events and not once did I get lucky. 2 tickets would be nice for me and my father. We both love to watch the América team play on TV.

    I was born in England and my husband is from Mexico.
    Our anniversary is on the day of the match in Atlanta.
    We will have too travel a few hundred miles to see the game but
    I want to support Atlanta in their bid to secure the Cup event in those years ahead. Please select me for the tickets !

  6. The only reason I would love to win this tickets is for my soon to be husband. his never gone to a game and I know this would make him so happy also I would have the most wonderful pics of my baby girl with her father at their first game together.
