Sandy Springs Mayor Eva Galambos received the “People, Place and Purpose” Award from the Georgia Municipal Association on June 27 during the group’s annual meeting.
The one-time award recognized Galambos’ efforts to incorporate Sandy Springs and her leadership of the city, city officials said.
“If ever there was a person with a purpose and a love for a place, it is Mayor Eva Galambos,” said GMA Executive Director Jim Higdon. “For three decades, she led the fight to get the community of Sandy Springs changed to the ‘City of Sandy Springs.’”
